Study Tour To North

On March 19, the BTTN faculty of research departed for Islamabad on a 13- day study tour organized by the National Command Authority (NCA) for capacity building. The study tour officially commenced with a get-to-know seminar that was held at the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) on March 21, 2022, in which members from BTTN and its sister organizations, the Center for International Strategic Studies Sindh (CISSS), the Strategic Vision Institute (SVI), and the  Center for International Strategic Studies (CISS) participated and presented their research papers on various topics. The session was graced with the participation of Advisor to the National Command Authority (NCA), Lt Gen Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, (R), and Director General, Strategic Plans Divisions (SPD), Lt Gen Nadeem Zaki Manj. From BTTN, Research Officer Mr. Rafiullah Khan presented his research paper titled, ‘Water Scarcity in Quetta; A Way Forward”.

As part of the study tour, the BTTN research faculty along with the CISSS Karachi, CISS and SVI Islamabad  visited various places in Islamabad as part of the study tour, which included; Pakistan Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH), Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA), Pakistan’s Center of Excellence and Nuclear, Security (PCENS) Chakri, Chashma Nuclear Power Plants, Pakistan’s Aeronautical Complex Kamra (PAC), Air Weapons Complex (AWC), Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) Wah Cantt, Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), National Defense University (NDU), Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) and Foreign Office (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Pakistan. Visits to different recreational spots were also arranged, which included visits to Saidpur village, Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument Shakarparian, Lok Virsa, Khanpur dam, and a day long visit to Murree, where BTTN also launched its Annual Report. BTTN research team also witnessed the Pakistan Day parade at the Shakarparian parade ground on the 23rd March 2022.
