In-house Lecture

"Conflict Resolution"

Date:  February 06, 2024

Brig Agha Ahmad Gul (R), in his lecture on Conflict Resolution at BTTN, underscored the inevitability of conflict in human societies and the critical need for strategic management to prevent escalation. He emphasized that while disagreements are a natural part of human interactions, their resolution or lack thereof determines whether they lead to progress or destruction. Drawing from historical, academic, and conceptual perspectives, he explored key conflict theories such as Balance of Power, Preponderance of Power, and Deterrence, which have long shaped global stability. He further highlighted the pivotal role of international institutions like the United Nations, regional alliances, and diplomatic negotiations in fostering peace through mediation, peacekeeping, and structured conflict transformation. Brig Gul concluded by advocating for a proactive approach to conflict resolution, transforming disputes into opportunities for cooperation, stability, and long-term development.
