Sher Ali Kakar serves as an Associate Director at the Balochistan Think Tank Network (BTTN). His research interests include nuclear and strategic affairs, with a specific focus on South Asia.

His work has been published in reputable peer-reviewed journals, including those by Elsevier and Margalla Papers. Mr. Kakar also regularly contributes opinion pieces to leading national and international platforms, such as South Asian Voices (Stimson Center), The Nation, and The Express Tribune. Additionally, he has authored a chapter in an academic book.
