Dr. Siraj Bashir is the director of research at BTTN Balochistan and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Karachi in 2018. His doctoral research focused on rural and community development and policy in Pakistan. He has taught at the departments of social work at the University of Karachi, and the University of Balochistan, Quetta. Dr. Siraj has five years’ experience working with national and international NGOs. His papers have been published in various international peer-reviewed journals such as Heligon, Weblogy, Russian Journal, Humanities and Social Sciences Reviews, Central European Management, Elementary Education Online, the Journal of Economics and Business, Palarch’s Journal of Archaeology, and the Journal of Contemporary Issues in Business and Government. His research is situated in the field of social science and development, with a special focus on Balochistan, socioeconomics, community development, CPEC, and women’s empowerment. He is the author or co-author of more than 40 research papers. He has given several plenary talks at national and international conferences. He is editor of the BTTN Journal and an editorial member of nine national and international journals. He mostly writes opinions on different issues in Observer Pakistan, Eurasia Review, and Daily Balochistan.
