Dr. Siraj Bashir is a distinguished figure in the realms of social science, social policy, and community development, heralding transformative change through his extensive research, scholarly contributions, and pragmatic insights. As the Director of Research at BTTN Balochistan, he writes about pioneering initiatives aimed at advancing socio-economic development and policy frameworks in Pakistan, particularly within the dynamic context of Balochistan. Dr. Bashir’s academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. from the University of Karachi in 2018, where his seminal doctoral research delved deeply into social policy and community development paradigms within the Pakistani landscape. His scholarly pursuits have been further enriched through teaching stints at prestigious institutions such as the University of Karachi and the University of Balochistan, Quetta, since 2018. Having collaborated with various national and international NGOs for five years, Dr. Bashir has contributed significantly to scholarly discourse. His research, encompassing topics such as socioeconomics, social policy, climate change, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has been published in national and internationally esteemed journals. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Bashir is committed to sharing knowledge and insights. He frequently speaks at conferences, both nationally and internationally, advocating for positive change. Furthermore, Dr. Bashir plays a pivotal role in academic publishing as the editor of the BTTN Journal and a member of the editorial boards of ten other journals. Through these platforms, he ensures the dissemination of valuable research and ideas. Outside academia, Dr. Bashir contributes to public discourse through opinion pieces in reputable newspapers such as Observer Pakistan and Eurasia Review. He strives to engage with broader audiences, fostering understanding and dialogue on important issues.
